De bestuurder, een Algerijn uit Frankrijk, bleek bijna 80.000 kanariegele pillekes aan boord te hebben. De bestuurder van een Renault Megane met Frans kenteken negeerde echter een stopteken en reed weg van de politie. Die zette dan ook de achtervolging in. Het vluchtende voertuig stak de grens met ons land over en werd even later op de E19 gesignaleerd ter hoogte van Loenhout. Zowel de Belgische wegpolitie als de Antwerpse lokale politie gingen er met verschillende ploegen op af.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tot wel 190 kilometer per uur<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het voertuig haalde snelheden tot 190 kilometer per uur en haalde andere voertuigen in over de vluchtstrook. Op de E313 ter hoogte van Grobbendonk moest hij op die vluchtstrook echter uitwijken voor een signalisatiewagen met stootkussen. De bestuurder was niet bij machte dit allemaal tot een goed einde te brengen en crashte dan ook tegen een vrachtwagen op de rechterrijstrook. Alsof dat niet genoeg was, ondernam hij rennend zijn volgende vluchtpoging. De politie kon hem echter in de berm naast de snelweg in het Algerijnse kraagje vatten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">35 jaar en dan dit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het gaat dus zoals vernoemd om een 35-jarige Algerijn die in Frankrijk woont. Hij werd voor verzorging naar het ziekenhuis gebracht, waar hij zijn wonden kan likken.
