Baarn – Een 29-jarige inwoner uit Hilversum zal zich zijn korte bezoek aan Baarn nog wel even herinneren. Zijn voertuig werd maandagochtend 23 januari geregistreerd door het cameratoezicht (ANPR) en dat bleek niet voor niets. De man had een forse hoeveelheid handelshoeveelheid drugs bij zich en werd aangehouden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kenteken herkend<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rond 09.00 uur kregen surveilleerden agenten een melding dat een voertuig door een ANPR camera in Baarn was geregistreerd. Agenten zagen korte tijd later het betrokken voertuig rijden en hielden daarop de bestuurder staande. De 29-jarige bestuurder uit Hilversum gedroeg zich enigszins nerveus. Toen agenten wat doorvroegen, stapte de man uit en zette het op een rennen. Onderweg gooide hij een plastic tas weg. Agenten achtervolgden de man te voet en konden hem achterhalen. In de plastic tas die hij in zijn vlucht had weggegooid, zat een forse (handelaars) hoeveelheid harddrugs. De man werd daarop aangehouden en zit nog vast voor verhoor. De drugs, circa 100 zakjes met een gebruikershoeveelheid harddrugs, cash geld en twee mobiele telefoons namen de agenten in beslag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ANPR<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

ANPR is automatische kentekenplaatherkenning. De afkorting\u00a0ANPR<\/a>\u00a0staat voor de Engelse term Automatic Number Plate Recognition. Een speciale camera met ANPR-techniek leest kentekens van voorbijrijdende voertuigen. De gelezen kentekens worden vergeleken met een lijst gezochte kentekens: kentekenplaten van bestuurders die boetes hebben openstaan of die gezocht worden door justitie, bijvoorbeeld voor een lopend politieonderzoek.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Succesje volgens de burgemeester<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

De geplaatste\u00a0ANPR-camera\u2019s bij Baarn en Soest<\/a>\u00a0zijn eind augustus van het vorig jaar geplaatst en de resultaten worden binnenkort ge\u00ebvalueerd. De recente aanhouding is \u00e9\u00e9n van de meer opvallende resultaten die door de camera\u2019s geboekt konden worden. Burgemeester Mark R\u00f6ell: \u201cHet is goed te zien dat de camera\u2019s een bijdrage leveren aan de veiligheid in Baarn en de politie in staat stellen snel en accuraat te reageren op ondermijnende criminaliteit. Dit nemen we mee in de evaluatie.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
