Tijdens een routinecontrole identificeerde de douane een container die gevuld was met keukenkasten. Hoewel de kasten overeenkwamen met de bijbehorende vrachtbrief, ontbrak een vermelding van de ruim 1000 kilo marihuana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Scanners zoeken<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De douane scant niet alleen vrachtcontainers die fruit bevatten, maar selecteert ook andere zendingen voor inspectie, wat resulteert in de ontdekking van verboden substanties. De scanmedewerkers van de douane zijn getraind om afwijkingen in de lading direct op te merken, zelfs als deze zeer geraffineerd verborgen zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5 miljoen euro<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bij het openen van de container uit Canada werd het vermoeden van onregelmatigheden inderdaad bevestigd. Er werden in totaal 2317 pakketten uit de container gehaald en gewogen, waarbij de weegschaal op 1042 kilo bleef hangen. Opvallend genoeg waren de keukenkasten bedoeld voor een bedrijf in Duitsland.
