Hierbij is afgelopen vrijdag in totaal 2.320 kilo drugs in beslag genomen, bestaande uit 210 kilo coca\u00efne en 2.110 kilo marihuana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Go-fast boot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het incident begon vrijdagochtend, toen het marineschip een melding ontving van het patrouillevliegtuig Dash 8 van de Kustwacht Caribisch gebied. Dit vliegtuig had een verdachte &#8216;go-fast&#8217;-boot gelokaliseerd in de buurt van de ABC-eilanden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Zr.Ms. Holland kwam direct in actie en lanceerde de Frisc\u2019s, snelle onderscheppingsvaartuigen bemand door gecombineerde teams van de US Coast Guard en het Fleet Marine Squadron. Ook de boordhelikopter, een NH90, ondersteunde de operatie vanuit de lucht.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De verdachten op de drugsboot negeerden herhaaldelijk het bevel om te stoppen. Pas na gerichte schoten op de motoren van de boot gaf de &#8216;go-fast&#8217; zich over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Negen opvarenden<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Aan boord van de smokkelboot bevonden zich negen opvarenden, en er werden in totaal 52 pakketten met coca\u00efne en marihuana in beslag genomen. De verdachten en de drugs zijn overgedragen aan de Amerikaanse Kustwacht. E\u00e9n verdachte raakte gewond en is door de NH90-helikopter naar Cura\u00e7ao gebracht voor medische zorg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Het stationsschip Zr.Ms. Holland wordt ingezet voor onder andere counter-drugs-operaties en werkt daarvoor afwisselend samen met de Amerikaanse kustwacht en de Kustwacht Caribisch Gebied.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Willemstad &#8211; Al in de eerste week van haar inzet als stationsschip in het Caribisch gebied heeft de Zr.Ms. Holland een drugstransport onderschept.
