Veel mensen hebben al baat bij medicinale cannabis die pijn- en ontstekingsremmend werkt, maar het neveneffect is dat zij er ook high van worden &#8211; wat een normaal dagelijks leven in de weg staat.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Farmaceutische bedrijven zijn daarom al geruime tijd op zoek naar een synthetische cannabis m\u00e9t pijnstillende effecten, maar zonder het zogenaamde &#8216;high&#8217; effect van de THC. Onderzoekster Marjolein Soethoudt van het LIC heeft nu achttien zogeheten \u2019referentiestoffen\u2019 met elkaar vergeleken, die veel in de farmaceutische industrie worden gebruikt. Drie daarvan hadden minder bijwerkingen dan de andere en muizen werden er niet high van, zo meldt het Leids Dagblad.<\/p>\n<p>Het geheim van de goede referentiestoffen is dat ze vooral aangrijpen op de receptor CB2, die vooral in het immuunsysteem te vinden is en die ontstekingen remt. Ze grijpen minder aan op de receptor CB1, die high maakt en die vooral in de hersenen te vinden is.<\/p>\n<p>Als er een doorbraak komt dan betekent dat goed en slecht nieuws. Het goede nieuws is dat de pijnstiller een welkom geschenk zal zijn voor veel pati\u00ebnten die niet stoned willen worden.
